Prof. Azade Köker was born in Istanbul in 1949. She completed Istanbul State Academy of Fine Art in 1971. She continued her study at the Berlin School of Fine Arts, Department of Industrial Design in 1973-1976 and at the Department of Sculpture in the same school from 1976 to 79. In 1978, she opened her own workshop in Berlin. Since 1992, she has taught in several Universities in Germany. Today she is a professor at the Braunschweig Technical University. Her first exhibitions were held in 1980 in Hannover, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart. She had many exhibitions not only in Germany and Turkey, but also in other countries.
