Bahar Kocaman

Bahar Kocaman was born in Edirne in 1961. She graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University in 1983. In 1985, she began working as a restorer at the Museum of Painting and Sculpture in Istanbul. In 1998, Kocaman completed her doctoral degree, proficiency in arts at her alma mater. In 1990, she received third prize in the Contemporary Turkish Painting Competition. She has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions and many art symposiums in Turkey and abroad. Her paintings can be seen in some significant collections in Turkey and abroad. Kocaman served as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Kocaeli University between 2003 and 2006. As of today, she teaches at Beykent University as an assistant professor and continues her works in her studio.
