Bengisu Bayrak was born in Herford, West Germany in 1978. She graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 2001. In 2000, she participated in the Second Turkcell Painting Competition and won third award. In the next year, she participated in the Third Contemporary Artist Exhibition and received an Achievement Award. Bayrak completed her master’s degree at the Department of Film and TV in the Institute of Social Sciences of Istanbul Bilgi University in 2005; doctoral degree, proficiency in art at the Painting Department in the Institute of Fine Arts of Marmara University in 2008. In the same year, she attended the Festival of Tulip in Istanbul, which was organized by the Istanbul Governorship. In the festival, 75 artists were asked to design giant tulip sculptures and they were placed all over the city. In 2009, she participated in the “My Moleskine 2.0 Competition” and won a Top Prize. As of today, Bayrak continues her art work and is pursuing MBA in marketing at the University of Wales.
