Can Aytekin was born in Istanbul in 1970. After graduating from the Painting Department, Adnan Çoker Workshop in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University in 1997, he worked as an assistant at his alma mater. He then continued his master’s degree and completed it in 2000. Aytekin received honorable mention award in a TÜYAP Painting competition in 1997; honorable mention award in the A.E.K.V. Painting competition in 1998; and an award in the Navy Department Painting competition in 1999. He has had several solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Currently, Aytekin continues his work in Istanbul.
