Çiler Belen was born in Eskişehir. She graduated from the Department of Decorative Arts & Textiles at the State Academy of Fine Arts in 1976. Between 1976 and 2000, she worked on textile patterns and paintings on woven surfaces. Since 2000, she has been working on painting, installation and design. Belen has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey. In 2009, she had her exhibition “taş-tektaş-tek(rar)taş” at Izmir State Painting and Sculpture Museum. Currently, she continues her work in Istanbul.
