Assist. Prof. Dr. Doğan Arslan

Doğan Arslan was born in Kırşehir, Mucur. He graduated from the Graphic Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Gazi University in 1993. In the same year, he pursued his Master′s degree in Graphic Art at the Graphic Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. After completing his Master′s degree in 1995, Arslan went to the US with a fellowship and pursued his Master′s degree in Design at Pratt Institute in New York. After graduating from the Master′s program at Pratt Institute in 2000, he went to London and completed his doctoral degree in Art and Design at the University of East London in 2007. In the same year he went back to New York and worked as an art director and designer at several institutions and companies.

Dr. Arslan currently works as the head of the Department of Art & Interactive Design in the Faculty of Art and Design of Istanbul Medeniyet University. He specializes in art, design, illustrations, caricatures, cartoons and modern art. His works have been exhibited and published in many national and international galleries and museums. Assist. Prof. Dr. Arslan has received more than 22 awards in national and international competitions including an award of merit in the 31st Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition (2014) and a third place in the 33rd Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition (2016).
