Ece Turaman was born in Malatya in 1955. After finishing Ankara College, she graduated from the Department of English Language and Literature at Hacettepe University. In 1977, she pursued her painting study at Birmingham Polytechnic Fine Arts Academy, and worked at painters’ workshops such as Trevor Halliday, Roy Abell, Barry Cook and Peter de Francia. Turaman also completed master’s degree in History of Contemporary Art at her alma mater. She has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in lots of group exhibitions in London, Cambridge, Bristol and Oxford. Her works can be seen in many national and international collections. Currently, she lives and works in London.
