Ekin Saçlıoğlu was born in Izmir in 1979. She finished at the Painting Department of Istanbul Anadolu Fine Arts High School in 1997. She graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University in 2002. She won third place in the graduation award, which was given by Sabancı Foundation. In 2001, Saçlıoğlu attended Salzburg Summer Academy with a fellowship of Austrian Culture Center. She continued her master’s degree at her alma mater from 2002 to 2005. During 2001-2004, she worked as an assistant of Ömer Uluç. In 2003, Saçlıoğlu was selected by Sabancı University to participate in the European and Mediterranean Young Artists Biennial. She has held many solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad, including Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Bulgaria and Holland. In 2004 she had her first solo exhibition at the Bir Culture Art Center in Istanbul. Since 2008 Saçlıoğlu has continued her doctoral degree at the Art Department in the Faculty of Art and Design of Yıldız Technical University. Her works can be seen in many private collections such as the Nejat Eczacıbaşı Collection.
