Esat Tekand

Esat Tekand was born in Turhal in 1952. After working at the Danish Arhus Kunst Academy, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 1983. Besides paintings and making sculptures, Tekand has undertaken numerous stage designs of theater plays and directed cinema and art projects. Since 1981, he has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many national and international group exhibitions. Tekand has received many awards for paintings. He has also given classes on plastic arts and contemporary art at various universities and schools. Tekand currently continues his work in Istanbul.
