Fügen Baş

Fügen Baş was born in Istanbul. After graduating from Site College, she studied at the English Language and Literature Department of Istanbul University for two years. She then began painting at Yıldız University Sabancı Culture Center in 1997. In 1999 she joined the Turkish Naval Force Painting competition and received a worth exhibiting award. In 2001 she attended the same competition and received an award. To make sculpture, Baş worked with Ayla Sarma and Erdoğan Sarma for a long time. She continued making sculpture with sculptor Hüseyin Suna. Baş has participated in many group exhibitions and held four solo exhibitions. Her work can be seen in many private collections in Turkey. Baş served as a board member in the Painters Association between 2004 and 2010. She currently continues her work and serves in various art activities of the Tema Foundation Tema K Group.
