Güneş Terkol was born in Ankara in 1981. She graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University. She continues her Master′s degree at the Department of Art and Design of Yıldız Technical University. Terkol takes inspiration from her immediate surroundings, collecting materials and stories, which she weaves into her sewing pieces, videos, sketches and musical compositions. Terkol has attended some residency programs including the program at ISCP New York (2013), OrganHaus, Chongping (2011) and Gasworks in London (2010). She is a member of Ha Za Vu Zu artist group. Terkol currently lives and works in Istanbul.
