İrem Tok was born in Istanbul in 1982. She graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 2007. Since then she has participated in many guest artist program such as Borusan Art Center in Istanbul (2008), Litmus Community Space Guest artist program in South Korea (2009), Inchon Foundation for Art and Culture / School Gate Project in South Korea (2010), and art.homes in Munich (2011). Tok has had her solo exhibition “Fade Away” at the Outlet Gallery in Istanbul (2011). She has participated in many group exhibitions including “Be Realist, Demand the Impossible”, Karşı Sanat, Istanbul (2007), “Mind Models: the First Show”, Borusan Music and Art Center, Istanbul (2010), “Etats d’Ames” ENSBA, Paris (2010), and “If the Nature is Heaven, the City is Hell”, CERMODERN, Ankara (2011). Currently, Tok lives and works in Istanbul.
