Mehlika Korol was born in Izmir in 1956. In 1987, she graduated from the Painting Department in the Buca Faculty of Education at Dokuz Eylül University. In 1991, she founded "Iz group" with eight artist friends. In 1995, she attended the Salzburg International Summer Academy, and worked at Prof. Jakobo Borges′s Workshop.
After retiring from teaching at Izmir Karatas High School in 2002, Korol worked as a tutor and art lecturer at the Ballet Dapartment of the Dokuz Eylul University Conservatory. From 2003 to 2006, she served as a lecturer in the Painting Department of the Buca Faculty of Education at Dokuz Eylül University. Since 2005, Korol has taught painting at the Izmir Konak Municipality.
In 2010, she attended the Moulage Atelier at Musée de Tautavel Centre Européen de Préhistoire, and received a certificate from Prof. Henry de Lumley. Since then, Korol has been working regularly at Grotte du Lazaret. In 2012, Korol performed live painting at the Izmir International Festival of Culture and Art, which was organized by the Turkish Ministry of the European Union within the context of Civil Society Dialogue II - Culture and Arts Program (CSD-II/CA).
Korol, a member of the International Plastic Artists Association, has had several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Her paintings can be seen in many national and internaional collections. Currently, she continues painting and teaching in Izmir.
