Mehmet Arpacık

Mehmet Arpacık was born in Bartın in 1936. He moved to Istanbul at the age of fifteen. He was impressed by Ali Demir′s exhibition, and inspired to create art himself. For many years, he supported himself with a day job, but over the last 20 years he has devoted himself entirely to his art.  His paintings illustrate a harmonious relationship between humans and their environment. Arpacık’s work has earned national and international praise and is included in private collections as well as in museums and galleries. He had his first solo exhibition at Stevens Institute of Technology, the Innovation University in 2012. Currently, Arpacık continues painting in Istanbul.
