Mehmet Ayanoğlu was born in Istanbul. He graduated from the Painting Department at Mimar Sinan University in 1997. In 1995-1996, he worked as a production manager at the Istanbul Foundation for the Arts. He also worked on special projects related to the 4th Istanbul Biennial. Between 1999 and 2001, Ayanoğlu studied at New York Institute of Technology and continued his master’s degree in Communication Arts. Between 2002 and 2003, he worked as a gallery assistant at Artists Space in New York. He continued his work as an adjunct curator at Artists Space in New York between 2003 and 2006. As an artist, Ayanoğlu has had several solo exhibitions in New York and Istanbul; and has participated in many group exhibitions in the US and Turkey. In 2011, he held his solo exhibition “Tam Zamanı” at Bilsar Building Activity Center in Istanbul. Currently, he lives and works in New York.
