Murat Akagündüz was born in Izmit in 1970. After graduating from the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University in 1995, he worked on lithography and fresco at an applied workshop. He is a member of the art group “Hafriyat”, which was founded in 1995, and he assists with all of the group′s projects. His works cover a wide range of subjects, from single figures to blurred and abstracted cityscapes. Akagündüz and the group Hafriyat has had exhibitions not only in Istanbul but also Diyarbakır, Eskişehir, Kayseri, Ankara, and abroad.
