Murat Morova

Murat Morova was born in Istanbul in 1954. He graduated from the Department of Painting in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Marmara University in 1977. Since 1987 Morova has held numerous solo exhibitions in Turkey. Since 1988 Morova has held regular solo exhibitions at the Urart Art Gallery in Istanbul and the Gallery Nev in Istanbul and Ankara. His drawings, exhibited at the Istanbul Gallery Nev in 2004, were compiled as limited editions of silk-screen printings under the title of "Ah Min’el Aşk-ı Memnu." He has also participated in various group exhibitions suhc as the 49th Venice Biennial in Venice (2001), 2nd Buenos Aires Biennial in Buenos Aires (2002), Parc de la Villette in Paris (2004), Triennale Bovisa in Milan (2008), Martin Gropius Bau in Berlin (2009), Istanbul Modern in Istanbul (2010), "Journeys: Wanderings Through Contemporary Turkey" at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris (2012), "Unhappy Ready-Made" at the Kuad Gallery in Istanbul (2014) and "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" at 44A Gallery in Istanbul (2017). Morova currently continues his work in Istanbul.
