Nezih Çavuşoğlu was born in Istanbul in 1959. He started painting when he was a high school student in Switzerland. He spent the summer of 1976 in Paris, and visited numerous artists at their studios. He studied visual arts with Tomie De Paola, Farid Haddad and Marguerite Walsh, and graduated from the Department of Visual Arts and Marketing at New England College (USA). Çavuşoğlu participated in many group exhibitions in Switzerland and the US. In 1981, he returned to Istanbul, and studied Turkish Contemporary Art. He has also collected Turkish contemporary paintings, and contributed to the development of Turkish Contemporary Arts. Besides being a painter and art collector, Çavuşoğlu worked at top professional management levels as a CEO within the fields of Marketing and Advertising. In 1998, he created the work together with ADMAR Advertising Agency, and received an award of Crystal Apple for the most creative TV Advertising by Turkish Advertising Association. In 2004, Çavuşoğlu served as a jury member together with Prof.Dr. Cihat Aral, Prof. Dr. Hüsamettin Koçan, and Assistant. Prof. Dr. Ferhat Özgür in the “Young Artist of the Year” competition, organized by Rh+ Arts Magazine. In 2009, Çavuşoğlu received one of the highest on-line votes within the abstract informal category in the Celeste Online Painting Competition, which was organized in Italy. Currently, he continues painting at his workshop in Istanbul and Bodrum.
