Nur Gökbulut was born in Ankara in 1954. She graduated from the Department of Turkish Literature at Gazi Training Institution in 1975; the Painting Department of the same institution in 1978. She worked as an instructor in secondary schools for six years. Gökbulut was appointed to the Painting Department as an assistant in 1981. She completed her master’s degree and doctoral degree in proficiency of arts at the Department of Social Sciences of Gazi University. Gökbulut has organized more than twenty solo exhibitions until today. She has also participated in many group exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad. As of today, she continues to work in the same institution. Gökbulut is a member of UPSD (International Fine Arts Association), BRHD (United Painters & Sculptors Association), GÖRSED (Visual Arts Education Association) and SEDER (Art Instructors Association).
