Özgür Yener was born in Istanbul in 1974. After graduating from the Painting Department in the Ataturk Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University, he studied psychotherapy through art with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevin Eracar at the Aura Psychotherapy Center. In 2003 he went to Madrid and continued studying painting with Félix Guisásola, Ramón Caravaca, Pilar Montero, Patricia Mayayo, Miguel Á. Ramos, Catalina Buezo, Josu Larrañaga, Juan Luis Martín Prada and Daniel Lupion. Yener completed his Master′s degree. While studying, he participated in two group exhibitions in Spain and Iceland. Yener pursued his doctoral degree in 2005. In 2003-2006 he investigated artworks in many museums such as Del Prado, Tysen Bornemisa and Reina Sofia museums in Madrid. In 2007 Yener held his solo exhibition "Silencio de Abstracto" at Madrid Francisco Duayer Art Gallery in Madrid and was praised very well.
Since 2000 Yener has been continuing painting in Istanbul. In 2006 he founded his workshop in Maltepe, Istanbul. He has held 7 solo exhibitions at well known galleries including Istanbul Ares Art Gallery, Istanbul Alchera Art Gallery, Mersin Pitura Art Gallery, Madrid Francisco Duayer Art Gallery, Istanbul Piazza Art Gallery, Istanbul Enka Dr. Clinton Vickers Art Gallery and Istanbul Gallery Espas. Yener has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad.
