Pınar Kalem was born in Istanbul in 1970. She graduated from the Department of Spanish Language and Literature at Istanbul University in 1993. Between 1993 and 1995, she studied design and oil painting at Parsons School in New York. She also attended visual narrative training courses at Steven Scott Gallery and Lighthouse Gallery in Maryland. Kalem has also participated in many workshops in abroad. She has held 12 solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Kalem′s works can be seen in many national and international collections. Currently, she lives and works in Istanbul.
