Şefkat İşlegen was born in Izmir In 1958. She studied graphics and graduated from the Faculty of Education of Izmir Buca University in 1978. She continued her study and graduated from the Graphic Department at Eskisehir Anadolu University in 1996. İşlegen prefers using metal and linoleum in her work. She has had numerous solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. She has received many national and international awards for her paintings. Her works can be seen in several national and international collections. İşlegen is a member of UPSD (International Plastic Artists Association), and BRHD (United Painters and Sculptors Association). Currently, she continues her work in Izmir.
