Selahattin Kara was born in Rize in 1958. He finished at the Painting Department of Atatürk Education Institute in 1978. Between 1979 and 1984, he taught painting. Since 1984, he has painted at his workshop in Ortaköy, Istanbul. Kara has had over 30 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 200 group exhibitions in Turkey. Currently he continues his work in Istanbul.
