Seray Vural was born in Istanbul in 1962. She finished at Kadıköy College for Girls. After studying in the Program of Traditional Turkish Arts at Mimar Sinan University, she transferred to the Ceramic Department and graduated in 1984. After completing her master’s degree at her alma mater in 1986, Vural started designing and making products for exporting to abroad at Paşabahçe Glass Factory. In 1990, she and her husband moved to Sweden, and stayed Sweden and Norway for 5 years. While staying in Scandinavia, Vural had many solo exhibitions and received an Award of Merit from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In 1995, she and her husband returned to Turkey. Since then, Vural has painted and made ceramics at her workshop in Istanbul.
