Şükrü Karakuş was born in Malatya in 1956. He finished at the Painting Department of Istanbul Atatürk Education Institute in 1976. He graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University. He completed his master’s degree at his alma mater in 1985. Since 1983, Karakuş has been living and painting in Spain. He has had more than 20 solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and Europe. In 2007, Karakuş participated in Sao Paolo Valencia Biennial. His works can be seen in public and private collections in Turkey (Istanbul Municipality), Spain (Tolosa Municipality and Xarxa Museum, Valencia), France (Pessac Municipality), and Germany. Currently, he lives and works in Spain.
