Tanju Demirci was born in Kesan in 1961. He graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Education at Marmara University in 1984. In the same year, he went to Roma, Florence, Assisi and Padova and researched his study. In 1986, he completed master’s degree with Prof. Devrim Erbil at the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mimar Sinan University. Demirci also took courses of theory of art from Prof. Adnan Çoker. In 1988, he went to Cologne, Germany and did further research. In 1991, Demirci completed doctoral degree, proficiency in art at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mimar Sinan University. Currently, he serves as a Research Assistant in the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University. Demirci has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey. He has received several awards.
