Prof. Tayfun Erdoğmuş was born in Isparta in 1958. Between 1975 and 1979, he studied at the Painting Department of the State College of Applied Fine Arts in Istanbul. In 1980, he received a scholarship from Austrian Government and went to Salzburg to participate in the International Summer Academy for Visual Arts. In the next year, Erdoğmuş became an assistant at his alma mater. In 1985, he participated again in the Salzburg International Summer Academy for Visual Arts in Austria. He completed his doctoral degree, proficiency in arts in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 1986. Erdoğmuş received a DAAD scholarship and went to the University of the Arts (Hochschule der Künste) in Berlin between 1986 and 1989. He got a scholarship from Austrian Government again, and participated in the Salzburg International Summer Academy for Visual Arts. In 1990, Erdoğmuş became an Associate Professor in 1990; and a Professor in 1997 at Marmara University. He has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. As of today, Prof. Erdoğmuş continues his work and teaches at Marmara University.
