Prof. Dr. Turan Aksoy was born in Erzincan in 1965. After graduating from the Painting Department at Gazi University in 1986, he completed his master′s degree at the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University in 1989, and doctoral degree at the University of Central England in 1996. In the following year, he was hired as an instructor at Hacettepe University. Aksoy received his Associate Professorship in 1998. From 2002 to 2007, he taught at Yeditepe University, where he received the title of full professorship in 2006. Since 2007, he has served as a professor at Yıldız Technical University. Prof. Aksoy has had many solo exhibitions, and participated in various group exhibitions and fairs in Turkey and abroad. His works can be seen in many public and private collections, including the Istanbul Modern Museum.
