Türkan Elçi was born in 1953. She graduated from the Department of Agriculture at Ege University in 1976. She attended Ünal Cimit Ceramic Workshop between 1994 and 1999. She studied painting with Assistant Professor Sedat Balkır in 2001. In 2006, her painting entitled "Saint Sophia" has been awarded with third painting prize in the Fine Arts International Contest "Antonio Gualda - Composer" summoned by the Cultural Association "Valentin Ruiz Aznar" in Granada, Spain.
