Ünsar Bahtiyar was born in Izmit in 1975. He graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 1975. He completed his master’s degree (2003) and doctoral degree (2010) in the Institute of Fine Arts at Marmara University. Since 2000, he has served as a research assistant at his alma mater. In 2003, Bahtiyar has his first solo exhibition at the Izmit Municipality Art Gallery in Kocaeli. Since 1995, he has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He has received several awards for his works. Currently, Bahtiyar continues painting in Istanbul.
