Veysel Günay

Prof. Veysel Günay was born in Trabzon in 1948. After graduating from the Painting Department at Gazi Institute of Education in 1969, he went to France with a fellowship, which was awarded by the Ministry of Education. He studied painting at Paris École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts and the Louvre Museum from 1970 to 1974. From 1974 to 1983, he taught painting at Gazi Institute of Education after returning from Paris. In 1983, he was appointed to the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University. He received a title of Associate Professorship. In 1995-1999, Günay served as a Professor and Department Chair in the same Department. In 1999, he transferred to Beykent University, and served as Chair of the Department of Textile Design in the Faculty of Fine Arts; and as a Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts. Currently, Prof. Günay serves as the Dean in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Aydın University. He has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey. He has received many awards for his work.
