Yusuf Toprak was born in Sivas in 1947. He studied painting in the workshop of Turan Erol at the Painting Department of the Gazi Teacher’s Training Instittute. After graduating in 1969, he taught at Sivas Teacher’s School for a while. In 1974, Toprak transferred to Izmir. In 1995, he retired from teaching. Since then, Toprak has concentrated on painting. He has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey. His works can be seen in national and international collections. Currently Toprak continues to work at his own workshop in Izmir.
