Prof. Zafer Gençaydın

Prof. Zafer Gençaydın was born in Elazığ in 1941. He graduated from the Painting-Work Department at Ankara Gazi Institute of Education in 1965. In 1971, he received a fellowship and studied at Prof. Hans Jaenisch′s studio in the Berin Academy of Fine Arts. In 1977, Gençaydın received the title of "meisterschüler" from a senator of the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts. He then started working as a tutor at the Gazi Institute and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Hacettepe University. In 1983, Gençaydın completed his doctoral degree, proficiency in art, at Hacettepe University. He became an Associate Professor in 1986 and a Professor in 1994. Gençaydın had his first solo exhibition in the Ankara State Gallery in 1970. Since then, he has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions. He served as Dean in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University for a long time. Currently, Prof. Gençaydın continues teaching at the same faculty.
