Prof. Zeki Fındıkoğlu was born in Iznik in 1946. He lived in virtually every region of the Anatolia. He moved to the United States in 1973 and completed his Master’s degree at the Department of Visual Communication Design of George Washington University in 1975. He obtained his doctoral degree in Educational Technology at Walden University. Dr. Fındıkoğlu has exhibited his painting in the US and Turkey as well as Europe and Asia. He creates highly stylized paintings and prints incorporate Turkish culture and artistic contentions, extending them with a modern artistic vocabulary to provide a bridge between ancient and contemporary art. Dr. Fındıkoğlu is a Professor and the chairman of the Art and Computer Graphics Department at Montgomery College. He has taught computer graphics, digital photography, advertising design, graphic design, silkscreen printing and art history. He has received many awards and grants since 1967. Prof. Fındıkoğlu is the owner of the Ninth Street Gallery in Washington, D.C. and co-owner of Studio 333 at Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2009, Prof. Fındıkoğlu published "Turkish Folk Tales." He currently lives and works in Washington D.C. |
