Tamer Hartevioğlu was born in Edirne in 1972. He studied photography at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mimar Sinan University and Yıldız Technical University. He worked as a photographer and a press consultant for several TV programs and series of ATV and Show TV. He then started his career as a freelance advertising photographer in 1995 and worked for several national and international brands’ advertising campaigns. In 1997, Hartevioğlu began working as a professional diving instructor. He conducted several underwater films and photography shootings of constructions and archaeological research projects. Between 2000 and 2003, Hartevioğlu taught photography at the MEF International High School. He has participated in several group exhibitions. In 2003, he had his first solo exhibition “Turkey: A Fantasy in D Minor” at the Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center in Istanbul. In 2004, he had the exhibition “İki Ülke, İki Fotoğrafçı, Bir Sergi” (Two Countries, Two Photographers, One Exhibition) with Cypriot photographer Christina Drakos at the Conrad Art Gallery in Istanbul.
In 2006, with Selin Atasoy Hartevioğlu, he exhibited the project “Panoramic Dream: Paris” in Istanbul French Culture Center, Izmir French Culture Center, Ankara National Library Exhibition Hall, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Bahriye Üçok Hall, Istanbul Saint Joseph French College, Izmir Economy University and Istanbul Cevahir Shopping Center. In the next year, they exhibited the “Panoramic Venice” in the Taksim Art Gallery in Istanbul. They continue the project “Panoramic Istanbul”. Tamer Hartevioğlu serves as a photographer in the project of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture. He has received several prizes in Turkey and abroad. Currently Hartevioğlu continues his work at the Studio, which he founded in 2002.
