Yusuf Tuvi was born in Izmir in 1938. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering in the Faculty of Electricity at Istanbul Technical University in 1960. In 1974, he started his work with photography. Throughout the years, he has been recognized and his photographs have been exhibited in many international photography competitions. In 1983, Tuvi was awarded the title “Artist of FIAP” (AFIAP) by the International Federation of Photographic Art. His works have been periodically published in Eczacıbaşı annuals, and his photo reportages in magazines such as Skylife and Ulusoy Travel.
Tuvi has a wide variety of slide archives in countries and cities such as Turkey (Istanbul, Anatolian historical sites, and fascinating places), Thailand, Egypt, Morocco, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan, Scotland, Hungary, Kenya, United States, Hawaii, New York, San Francisco, Prague, Paris, Venice, Petra, US National Parks, Israel, Greek Islands, and China. A collection of his work in New York City has been published in the book "New York". Four of his works have been accepted to the collection of the Istanbul Modern Museum.
