Salih Memecan

Salih Memecan was born in Giresun in 1952. After receiving his BA and MA degrees in architecture from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, he completed his doctoral degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania as a Fulbright scholar in 1983. In 1974, he published the caricature book "Kare Düşünce”. His work such as “Bizimcity” and “Sizinkiler” is published daily in the Sabah newspaper and weekly in the Aktüel magazine. The animated version of “Bizimcity” takes place on the prime-time news program on ATV. Between 1998 and 2007, he lived and worked in New York City. His caricatures were published in major newpapers such as Washington Post, The Sun Francisco Chronicle, The Baltimore Sun and The Phledelphia Inquirer. In 2010, Memecan became chairman of the newly formed Turkish Media Association.
