Saner Şen

Saner Şen was born in Sivas in 1974. He started working as a photojournalist in 1996 for a newspaper "Olay" in Bursa while he studied economy at Uludağ University. In 1997, he began to work as a freelance journalist for various monthly magazines. Since then, he has worked extensively in 20 countries mostly covering social and political issues, conflicts and beliefs.

Şen worked as a photo editor for Gezi Traveler Magazine in Istanbul for a short time. From 1997-1998, he was a staff photographer for World Picture News Agency. His feature stories have been published in many different magazines including Atlas, Masa Acher, Der Spiegel, and National Geographic. Since 2004, he has been preparing photo stories for National Geographic Magazine Turkish edition. He joined NarPhotos Agency in 2007. Şen currently works as a freelance journalist based in Istanbul.
