Saygın Serdaroğlu was born in 1983. He graduated from the Photography Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Kocaeli University. He currently takes mainly editorial photographs and photo-essays for local and international publications. His images have been published in various newspapers and magazines such as Time, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Le Figaro, Life, El Pais, The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, Berliner Zeitung, Washington Times, Zeit, L′Express, The National, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Bloomberg, Geo Turkey, Businessweek Turkey, Gaste, Istanbul Magazine, Jet Life, Tempo, and Chica. Serdaroğlu worked for Agence France-Presse (AFP) as a stringer. He was among the organizers of the Istanbul Slide-Show Days, which was organized between 2002 and 2005. In 2007, he served as one of the organizing committee members of the International Photography Festival in Turkey ‘ULISphotoFEST.’ In the following year, Serdaroğlu participated as a trainer in two photography workshops for children: one hosted by UFAT (Uludağ University Union of Amateur Photographers), and the other by Nivea-TEGV-Photography Foundation. Serdaroğlu is one of the editorial board members of Classical Turkish Music e-magazine "SazveSöz." He is also a member of the Photography Foundation.
