Prof. Ali Teoman Germaner was born in Istanbul in 1934. In 1949 he entered the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts where he studied under Rudolf Belling, Zühtü Müridoğlu and Hadi Bara. In 1957 he graduated from this academy. In 1960 he won a scholarship from the French Government and went to Paris. He studied sculpture at Rene Collamarini’s studio at Ecole des Beaux Arts between 1961 and 1965, and engraving at W.S. Hayter’s studio (Studio 17). Ali Teoman Germaner became an Associate Professor in 1970 and tenured Professor in 1976 at the Department of Sculpture at Mimar Sinan University where he ran a studio until he got retired in 2001. Prof. Germaner continues creating art in his private studio. He has had many solo and group exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad. |
