Çetin Ateş was born in Ankara in 1971. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts Education in the Faculty of Education at Çukurova University in 1997. He then gave lectures on sculpture techniques and designs, fundamental plastic art elements, and human artistic anatomy at Adana High School for Boys. Between 1999 and 2005, Ateş served as a research assistant at the Department of Sculpture in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mustafa Kemal University, where he completed his Master’s degree in 2003. In 2004, he served as a visiting lecturer in the Art Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Since 1995, he has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. In 2009, he was featured in the "Best of America - Sculpture Artists -" Volume II. In July, 2011, he was selected for the Art Melt Show, and his work was exhibited in the Louisiana State Museum. Ateş was commissioned for an outdoor metal sculpture that is placed at the main entrance of the West Baton Rouge Museum in Port Allen, Louisiana. Currently, he continues his work in Baton Rouge, LA, where he teaches as an Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge′s Artist Teacher. Ateş has agreed to exhibit his sculptures in the Artist-Gallery in New Orleans, LA.
