Ceylan Dökmen was born in Istanbul in 1981. She graduated from the Sculpture Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University in 2004. She continued her master’s degree at the Sculpture Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. Between 2006 and 2007, Dökmen studied at Accademia di Belle Arti L’Aquila through the Erasmus Student Exchange Program. Between 2007 and 2008, she completed her master’s degree in lighting design at Politecnico di Milano. After returning to Istanbul, Dökmen has worked as a lighting designer at many theaters, parks, and private companies. She has made sculptures, and has had several solo exhibitions. She has also participated in lots of group exhibitions in Turkey and Italy. Dökmen received first prize in the Artistanbul Fair Sculpture Competition in 2005. In 2007, she won an international mention award in the Premio İnternazionale di Sculture Edgardo Mannucci-Rotary
