Filinta Önal was born in Ankara in 1972. He graduated from the Sculpture Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University in 1994. He continued his master’s degree and completed in 1997. In 1996, he received a Success Award in the 57th State Painting and Sculpture Competition. From 1998 to 2000, he worked as an instructor at the Sculpture Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Mersin University. In 2006, he won his first award in the First Middle East Technical University Sculpture Competition. He has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions, competitions, biennials, symposiums and art fairs. Currently, Önal works as a free lance sculptor.
