Füge Demirok was born in 1958. She finished at T.E.D. Ankara College in 1976. She graduated from the Department of Literature and Linguistics in the Faculty of Letters at Boğaziçi University in 1981. In 1983, Demirok completed the Teacher’s Training Program in the Faculty of Education at Boğaziçi University. Between 1991 and 1993, she went to the US, and studied sculpture, Neo-Impressionism and drawing at Westchester Community College in New York. After returning to Turkey, Demirok worked at İrfan Kokrmazlar’s workshop between 1996 and 2002. In 1998, she also studied at the relief workshop of the Sculpture Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. Currently, Demirok continues to work at her workshop, which she founded in 1999. She has had several solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. One of her works was published in the sculpture catalogue of 2008 Beijing Olympics. Her work “Secret of Eight” won Five Rings Award in the Olympic Landscape Sculpture Contest on the occasion of 2008 Beijing Olympics Games. Demirok is a member of UPSD and GESAM.
