Selda Salman Acar was born in Kayseri in 1972. She graduated from the Department of Public Administration in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Ankara University. In 1991, she became interested in photography. After working as a bank teller and manager, she left her work and concentrated on photography and cinema. Since 2004, Acar has exhibited her photography exhibition “Temalar” in Turkey. She has had many solo photography exhibitions. She has participated in many photography competitions, and has received many prizes. Acar is a member of UPSD, FOTOGEN and FSK. In 2007, she received a title of “Artist of FIAP” from the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). Since 2009, Acar has also worked in cinema and has shot short and long films.
