Sıdıka Sibel Sevim was born in Mudanya in 1964. She finished primary and middle school in Mudanya. In 1989 she graduated from the Ceramics Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Anadolu University. She completed her master’s degrees in 1991 and her art doctorate in 1994. She became a professor in 2005. Since 2007 she has served as a chair of the Ceramics Department at her alma mater. She wrote many papers on the topic of ceramics. Prof. Sevim has served as a member of the board in many associations. She has had many group exhibitions as well as solo exhibitions and has received many awards. Prof. Sevim is also a member of the International Association of Plastic Arts and Turkish Ceramic Association.

2007, an award of merit in the section of the best decorated plate in the “TOGETHER 2007” 10th. International Porcelain Decoration Symposium, Latvia Fine Arts Academy, 8 June 2007, Zcartava /Latvia.
2008, an Eskişehir Ceramic Art Prize, Eskişehir Art Association, Eskişehir.
