Sümer Sayın

Sümer Sayın was born in Istanbul in 1985. She graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 2007. In 2005-2006 she studied as an Erasmus student at Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts de Lyon. In 2008-2010 she completed her master′s degree in Fine Arts at Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHIO). Sayın has received several grants and attended many residency programs in Turkey and abroad. She has held many solo exhibitions in Oslo, New York, and Istanbul, and participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions. In 2014 she was invited to create a specific work for the "City and Public Spaces," a part of the contemporary Art Festival "Nights of Museums and Galleries," organized by the Open Arts Foundation in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Sayın is a recipient of the 2014 TCF Cultural Exchange Fellowship. She currently lives and works in Istanbul.
