Burcu Gökçek was born in Ankara in 1979. After studying International Law at Universite de Lausanne in Switzerland in 1997-1999, she studied painting at the Pratt Institute of Art and Design in New York, where she graduated in 2003. Gökçek has held several solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions and festivals in Turkey and abroad. She currently lives and works in Istanbul.
