Zeynep Kayan

Zeynep Kayan was born in Ankara in 1986. She graduated from the Department of Communication and Design at Bilkent University. In 2008, she attended the Animal Estates Regional Home Modes 6.0 in Utrecht, Casco, and D.A.R.E. 4 in Amsterdam. She completed her Master’s degree in Fine Arts at MaHKU, Utrecht in the Netherlands in 2009.

Kayan has held several solo exhibitions such as "Pull the Rope We′re Downstairs" (with Burcu Bilgiç) at the Gallery Zilberman in Istanbul (2015) as well as the Torun in Ankara (2014) and "Uncomplete" at the Gallery Zilberman (2013). She has also participated in various group exhibitions including "Second Nature" at the Art Gallery of Middle East Technical University in Ankara (2015), "Joyful Wisdom" at the Rezan Has Museum in Istanbul (2013), "Figure Out: Turkish Contemporary Art" at the Artsawa in Dubai (2012) and "Uncanny Encounters" at the Istanbul Modern (2012). In 2011 Kayan was invited to the RAM_Era exhibition, which was held at the Central Gallery of Malaga University in Spain. Her works have been published in many publications such as “Geniş Açı” fotoğraf magazine, “Ruby Mag”, “Rotterdam Dialogues: The Artists, The Critics, The Curators” and “Six Years Later”. She was one of the founders of independent art space "Torun" in Ankara. Kayan currently continues her work in Ankara.
